A Simple “First Run” Testing Plan (Recommended)

Beginners do best when they test in stages instead of trying to be perfect on day one.

Stage 1 — Verify Data + License (5 minutes)

• Chart candles move

• License shows valid

• Strategy enabled

Stage 2 — Simulation Test (1–3 days)

• Run on SIM (or a demo if your license supports it)

• Confirm it behaves as expected (no errors)

Stage 3 — Go Live Small (Micros)

• Use MNQ/MES if possible

• Confirm you can tolerate the swings emotionally and mathematically

Automation removes the “clicking” part of trading.

It does not remove the need for risk control. That’s covered deeply in risk-management.md.
